Jhawk618. I had the same issue. I had to go to my phone settings to fix it. SETTINGS -> GENERAL-> ACCESIBILITY -> SUBTITLES AND CAPTIONING. Even though it showed as off, I had to turn it on and then turned it back off and finally the captions are gone on the app for ESPN. Had this problem for a very long time.
