It sounded like the same noise that you hear when you have a bad motor mount or a bad u-joint or ball joint.....And it felt like it was coming from right under the driver's feet..... After a week of hearing this noise ...I am on my third CRV for my wife and plan on getting a 2013 new one for her and keeping the 2007 for myself. Don't drive the 07' much but when I did the other day thought the noise from the rear was excessive. I rotate the tires myself and when I did have the wheels off spun the hubs and did not hear anything out of the ordinary.In my case the clunking was either a bad tie rod or lower control arm.
