Well if you're making pyromancy a focus, sure. But the thing is that it's viable at a much lower stat investment. It's perfectly reasonable to be a melee character that gets the attunement from some form of Southern Ritual Bands. Using a high value pyromancy with a +10 glove and low FAI/INT is kind of like a spiced down high value sorcery.
