Yes you can, you just need the attunement slots. 3. Best is subjective, but popular ones are: Balder Side Sword, Greatscythe, Gold Tracer, and Uchi. It all boils down to preference. Build Strategy. Pretty balanced build. Easy to play. I never played Dark Souls 1 and I started playing Dark Souls 2 with the release of Scholar of the First Sin, however with this build I beat the game. It has a really nice melee damage and you can use the shield to stop those hard hitting enemies, like the drakekeepers. No essential rings with a pyro build, imho. Best spells are Great Combustion and Black Flame, and Fire Tempest. Get your dex up to 45, that will increase your casting speed and give the scythe tons of damage. I recommend the wood grain ring for mobility and the bellowing dragoncrest ring for extra pyro damage. For a build that's focused more on dex than pyro, yeah, preferring gc does make sense, I can understand that. Gc is better on kick > gc because if you land the kick you get the gc 100% of the time. Bf is better on dedicated pyro because you can force opponents to play more reserved, given you can guard break extremely easily. 40/40 or 60/60 Int/Faith is great, then if you run enough stats to use the Lothric SS with Dark Infusion or the Demon Scar you'll be set.
