Never validate unless the game literally wont run at all. Crashes happen, but validating takes time and can corrupt the files. I have crashed a few times but never validate them, I just reload and it seems to work for awhile. I was wondering if validating after installing is what was screwing the pooch. it is not, you are always gonna get 2 files fail to validate... those will always show invalid - they are files that store local pc info so are different for every pc and are edited during game install. the crash may be any number of things. and will likley need more info to determine.
