You will catch bvi signal (not at&t) on some of the north shore beaches so you may want to turn off international roaming unless you have an international plan.I think it is about 90 miles long. You can go all week and never loose sight of land but sail for 3-4 hours a day and spend the morning or afternoon at a different mooring on a different island. With the USVI there are 3 main islands. I've seen that up through April is the "best" time to visit, whereas into June you start to hit hurricane season, then heavy summer heat and the worst of the bugs.

Lots of breeze there to keep bugs off, but still a lot of mosquitoes and no-see ums. We took a spray this year called Sawyers Insect Repellant with 20% picaridin and had fewer bites. I think the DEET only works well for mosquitoes.The short answer is maybe. You need line of sight to the St. Thomas towers. Their coverage map is accurate.
