That's because black ops/standard has rotational aim assist (the auto-track part) and precision aim assist there's only slowdown. I have switched to controller and the assist I get especially in cqb is insane. I still need to put the work in for long range fights but I'm much more confident now when I'm pushing buildings with a smg.
Unless you’re a die-hard Black Ops fan, the first three settings — Precision, Focusing, and Default — will likely work the best for you as you find your feet in using Aim Assist correctly. You can alternate between Black Ops or Default for aim assist unless you're sniping you can mess with Precision and Focusing. Also keep in mind this game is using ADS Bloom so you're shots are not always 100% going to go where you're aiming. You can combat this by increasing in attachments with stats such as accuracy.
