There is a narrow gauge partially cog railway from Brig (from Geneva you get on at Visp now) to Zermatt and another from the village up to Gornergrat. The cog railway is a fantastic trip up to the summit of Pikes Peak. Beautiful scenery! Hopefully the tracks will be clear so you can do it. Luckily the tracks were clear of snow, and we made it up to the top. Unfortunately, there was 8 feet of snow on the ground, and the crew had to shovel their way into the gift shop. It uses a Marsh rack system and both steam and biodiesel powered locomotives to carry tourists to the top of the nountain.The railway is about 3 miles long.
