Each gas station has enough gas to (reportedly) last for about 50 in-game years. And there are a lot of gas stations. They power down when the power grid goes down, but that's solved by keeping a generator hooked up at the station you're using (turn it off when you leave tho). Don't worry about it.

So, there's enough gas in one gas station/one gas pump to fill at least 2009 cans of gas completely. I still believe there to be infinite gas in a pump, but Science Man started going on about needing infinite time and provable hypotheses, and I started to lose interest after a minute.
