Mar 3, 2010 · Around here the 2940 was the 3rd worst tractor Deere ever built (behind a 2840 or a 8630 ). The 2 spd gave trouble as well as the hyd.'s. The early 5500's had some issues as well. The 2750 is the only one of the 3 I would even consider. "You can't pay too much for a good tractor, and you can't buy junk cheap enough." That's the mid-PTO output stub shaft on the right, below the trans filter. The neutral switch is just to the left of the mid-PTO stub shaft. You can see a red wire going into it. Here's another picture, this time with the Mid-PTO shaft attached to the mower deck (the Autoconnect shaft).
