When the safety is in the “safe” position, you can see there is a gap that prevents the hammer from striking the firing pin. The sights are minimal on the Rough Rider. The 16-inch version is sure to turn some heads at the range. I would check alignment between the cylinder and the barrel before firing. Pull the hammer to position 2, and spin the cylinder through at least 3 times to ensure it is unloaded, pull the hammer all the way back, and look down the barrel.
