The standard controls are just clunky and really weird in my opinion. I mean, in real life even someone who has never flown a helicopter can fly one if he gets a 10min introduction from a flight instructor, and the controls in arma 3 are more complicated than in real life. And by all necessary means, Arma is no flight simulator. A lot has changed in Arma 3 since then, specifically the introduction of the Advanced Flight Model (AFM), so this video addresses those changes. So I wanted to try Arma 3 out with some flying using my X-56 joystick and throttle combo. (in the marketing material it shows arma 3 as a supporting game). But when in game I can't find the joystick type under either Logitech or Saitek. Is it supposed to be gone? Is there a file I could download to get some decent controls?

But what I have noticed is that the game handles the mouse control differently, in that I have to constantly scroll the mouse in order to move a position.

Apr 18, 2020 · It's been awhile since I played ARMA 3, but I used to be able to control a helicopter pretty good using a mouse. Now, for some reason the helicopter controls don't work for me anymore. When I try to bank the helicopter using mouse left, it moves very very slow, almost no strafe movement at all.

I normally use the throttle half of my Thrustmaster HOTAS for collective inputs. I don't even use the stick half in Arma, preferring the mouse and keyboard for attitude inputs.
