The XLE Corolla Cross has way more features than the XLE Rav4. The cross XLE has LTA, SofTex, a sunroof, power lift gate, and a better console area. The Rav4 XLE was wayyyy more expensive and didn’t have any of these features. The CX-5 AWD system seems to work better. Interior Feel- Again, not much to say, the CX-5 is much nicer inside in most respects, it just feels so much nicer, the Rav4 felt flimsy inside. The CX-5 is smaller inside, but I don't think the reduction in cargo size is going to make a difference for me.

2019 should be reliable. Apart from noise/perhaps a jerky transmission, the LE AWD doesn’t have the transfer case issues. Shouldn’t have anything that affects reliability. Resale will be better with the new style, as well as power and fuel economy. Up to you if you decide a deal on the 2018 is worth forgoing all of that. Currently deciding between the 2021 Rav4 gas Limited AWD vs the 2021 Rav4 Hybrid Limited AWD. I'm not too worried about the $1600 CAD price difference, I'm worried about which is the more reliable vehicle. To highlight some of the differences: -A slight bit more horsepower in the Hybrid compared to the standard gas Rav4. -slightly quieter engine.Maybe a little more denser, but the charging system would need to be recalibrated for fit the new battery. The prime battery sits partly below the floor so structurally it's impossible to put it into the hybrid. I'm hoping that in 10 years the prime battery will be a little denser to allow up to 100 mile ranges. 2. r/rav4club.The RAV4 is not as big as you think , its taller and you ride higher, but its footprint is closer to the prius then it is to a full size suv. In my experience Toyotas have the body fall apart before the engine. If a new hybrid rav4 is $35k and lasts 200k+ miles, 5k for that car is ok if you need a car today and have a backup car, because all the surprise mechanical issues will emerges towards the end of a cars life. For reference a 2019 rav4 pre Covid base msrp was $25k.

The Rav4 is a decent car but it's overpriced by about $5k. It has one thing going for it: it's a Toyota, which means it'll probably last a while. If that's the most important thing to you, buy the Rav4. But other than that, it's a worse value than almost every one of its competitors (particularly the CX-5, CR-V, Tucson, and Rogue). It's literally nothing but a few gears because the electric motors are what vary the speed. Look up Weber Auto on YouTube and look for his video on the RAV4 eCVT transaxle. I have driven the 21 RAV4 and there was nothing exciting about it. But it’s a solid car, just like the Crosstrek. The wildcard is the 23+ Crosstrek. There are spy shots online, but we don’t know much about it other than it being an entirely new car. Drove both back to back, venza was a quieter more lexus like ride but the shape made it feel smaller inside and seemed to have less cargo space, ended up going with a Rav4 hybrid. Plus rav was a bit cheaper. The Venza looks more refined and the RAV4 is a bit rugged looking. The 22 Crosstrek has no changes from 21, and the 22 RAV4 has only minor changes from 21. There are spy shots online, but we don’t know much about it other than it being an entirely new car. The Venza is better looking, has the really cool panoramic roof with push button frost feature (something really unique for this segment), and the AWD system is able to put 80% of the power to the rear wheels which is great - the Rav4 can only do 50/50. The Venza looks better but has less space. Rav is our adventure-mobile and the Camry is the on the town date night car. The Rav has more creature comforts such as a power lift gate, but the Camry has a nicer quality of interior in my opinion. Also, storage capacity looks limited by that sloping roof. Hope the styling reverts back to the previous, less boxy generation. The Camry will debut this summer (2023) after the new Tacoma not in 2024. Camry will be a 2024 MY. Toyota never changes much so don't expect much.
