My goal was to have final setup 12-beacon smelter for my mega base w/o circuits, but for UPS optimization a _minimal_ circuit looks inevitable to control the inserters grabbing 10-12 plates instead of <4 -> much less swings. Here's a steel smelting setup if you're interested. If for some reason, I dunno, you wanted to build a whole base using only burner inserters, here's a design for 4 input assembers . If you want to expand on this idea, there are mods that add coal or steam-powered assemblers and other machines, so you can build a base without any electricity.

I wanted to keep it as compact as possible. It's a slight variation of the one-belt balancer in the wiki. I tried fitting it in the 42x13 tile space but had to add an extra tile column (43x13) to fit it. This balancer balances the sides of the belt. It ensures that the iron source is being pulled from evenly.
