Today I noticed 2 things. 1) the little rubber seal on my rear dana 35 pumpkin oozes oil when I press it. 2) the rear differential is really hot (can touch it for about 3 sec before pulling away).my 2014 Willys just started running hot recently. I had the rad flushed/serviced about a month ago....then BAM, out of no where...my temps climb past 235 and the dial starts to move off of center. I have the feature to see the temp on the gauge cluster...and it'll bounce from 208-235 in the stretch of a mile. AC on. If I turn it off, same thing.So, last Friday on the way home from school, my wife's 2009 3.8L 2 door Jeep starting running really rough with flashing check engine light - fortunately she was already close to home. It had been running really well (really well, I thought!) and then, bam, misfiring all over the place. Jul 28, 2020 · On hot days (temps in 90's plus), my Jeep would overheat while driving regardless of speed. Higher speeds didn't help cool it off. In older vehicles that had questionable cooling fans, you could just drive 50-60 and the airflow through radiator was enough to keep your engine happy. Not so in the JK. Particularly if you're running the A/C.

As noted JK's with with the 3.6 run hot.. fan does not usually kick in till 226-228.. so if under load, steep hill for example, temps in the 230's can be expected.. The jeep isn't running hot at all. The temp needle never gets past half or even up to half way. When I start the jeep the fan is not on.

This is a common problem when doing any kind of cooling system work on a jeep. The JK is well known for being difficult to get all the air out of the system. Often times taking multiple attempts. My 98 TJ with the 2.5l has been acting up lately. It seems to run pretty normal when cold, but a few minutes after reaching normal running temp, it gradually seems to idle rougher and rougher, it's low on power and there's a drop in oil pressure. There was also a noticeable drip ftom the tail pipe.Its been going on since we go the Jeep, dealership is still playing dumb. Sits right in the middle of the engine. Mine was starting to leak, and liquid was living in the valley of the engine.
