hi about a week ago my 2002 santa fe suddenly lacked performance and the check engine light came on . At the same time I noticed the speedometer stopped registering. I later discovered the poor performance was due to the fact that the vehicle was in 3rd gear "limp" mode.My vehicle goes into limp mode (more often on hot sunny days)(more often when trying to pass). When it first happened, my digital speedometer stopped working and still always reads 24mph (needle speedo still works). All other times the car jerks, tachometer drops to 0, and sometimes the engine light comes on.AutoZone doesn't carry the Hyundai genuine part, only Duralast and Dorman generics. I ended up having to buy the Duralast one just to hopefully get back on the road before Tuesday. Sport mode is drive for me. Drive is Overdrive for me and only used on the highway. I put it in sport mode and let the car do the shifting. The DCT does a good job holding a gear and downshifting as I slow down. I find the paddles a waste of time because in sport mode the car will hold the gear as long as I need it.
