Bungie said that the current eververse engram can gain you items from past seasons. So there is possibility you can gain it. Sadly this engram does not let you preview what items you can get from it. They change it this seasons. For the last couple of seasons this engram at least let you view all items you can possibily get.

The engrams have a defined table, I think only stuff you don't have from 3 or more seasons prior. If there aren't any, you can only get duplicates at that point. That said, they aren't on a knockout, i.e. you can still duplicates even though there are things you're still missing. That would be one good opportunity for improvement.
