I have an optimax and was just wondering if it were possible or even if it would work. Im not wanting to do this. I never heard of anyone deleting the injection system on an optimax.

Hello, I have a 1985 Mercury Black Max, 200hp, and the oil pump seems to have just quit. Fortunately, the Alarm warned me when the oil level dropped on the tank atop the motor. Rather than spend an arm and a leg on an oil pump right now, I would like to bypass the oil pump, and run on a mix.Also need to remove the oil pump and pump driveshaft and install a factory adapter/plug with oring to the block. And plug where the discharge of the oil pump enters the fuel pump (serveral different styles). Then remove the injection alarm module, rotation sending unit and onboard tank.
