For pvp it depends, the rapier has higher critical damage but the estoc has higher base damage, making it a better choice for turtling. Why I love using both Balder Side Sword and Estoc at the same time. The movesets are like the inverse of eachother: Estoc has poke R1 and sweep R2, Balder has sweep R1 and poke R2. Makes for some amazing versatility. There's also an element of unpredictability--they look almost identical aside from the guard.
