We're 8 major patches in and the game is flakey as hell using the it. Switching to DX11 immediately results in smoother framerates and less crashing.

Just tried multi-player with split screen coop on both pcs with total of 4 players and only 2 pc and 2 copies of the game. But need 2 controllers for each pc to play. You connect 2 controllers, create a multi-player session, connect a friend to the session with 1person or if they have 2 controllers recognized by the game 2 ppl will connect.
BUGS. Give the game FULL attention. TLDR; Don’t have any other systems (YouTube, Music, Task Manager) running and don’t alt+tab out of the game. If you stay in the game and just do that, it gives you the least chances of crashing. Me and my wife tried the character creation twice and it crashed twice before we could finish, both time.

Try switching. Instead of using the Larian Launcher, go into the game location: DRIVE Location like drive C:\GOG\Baldurs Gate 3\bin. If you are using DirectX, make a shortcut to the file: bg3_dx11.exe (skips Larian Launcher) - move the shortcut to desktop and run.
