Dec 28, 2023 · Morri Dec 28, 2023 @ 2:50pm. It's just for looks. Adding decorations indoors (like shelves, rugs, lanterns) will add to happiness, but that is capped at 10 decorations, which I'm sure you can cram into the simple house as well. For me; I keep the bigger house for myself.

BUT all the houses will look the same if you want them to provide the best insulation and to spend less firewood during winter in the process.
