Isx blowing coolant out overflow but not overheating.

1466 posts · Joined 2005. #2 · Jul 16, 2006. there is no other cap. it still can have a broken head bolt or something to that effect (without overheating). also make sure the coolant is a 50/50 mix if its not it could actually boil. when the engine is shut off it tends to get slightly hotter before it starts to cool.At low revs, it's not too much of an issue. At higher revs, it totally overpressurises the coolant system and forces the coolant out of the overflow. * Rev dependant coolant loss, rather than depending on the time you've been out or how hot the engine is. * The coolant comes out of the overflow THEN the bike overheats.Temp gauge stays constant at 1/2. Rad fan still kicking in and out. Shut car off. And coolant fills the reservoir tank all the way to the top. As it boils/bubbles back so much so that it pours out the overflow vent/hole at the top of the reservoir tank. It's nearly impossible to fill the Cruze's coolant and get all the air bubbles out so they work their way out as you drive. You'll need to put more coolant in in a few weeks simply to replace the air that's worked it's way out of the system.The water pump is pushing water around and it's also heating up/expanding. Coolant reservoir being empty isn't terribly surprising or a key indicator by itself. Burp it properly and drive it and let us know if you get any overheating, bubbles in the overflow tank while idling, after driving, etc. It's not the water pump.

Check that the cap is securely fastened and sealing OK. If everything appears OK, then the pressure seal may have failed and the cap may need replacing.
