The 1020 is inertia operated and more the competitor of the Stoeger M3000 but it is newer with a less proven track record. I have a CZ712 Utility. I regularly hunt (waterfowl, pheasant, quail, rabbit, squirrel, etc.) and shoot clays with my 1012. It’s been my go to for two years, has run through several thousands of shells, and has not yet let me down. If I go hunting or clay shooting it comes with me, period.
