I am shooting a knight disc extreme 50 cal with 85 grains of trip 7 and a 460 grain no excuses. At 50 yards I am at 2" high, and at 100 yards, I am at 3" high which was surprising to me. Jul 19, 2010. #6. I cast & hunted with the 320 grn 50 cal Lee REAL mold. You have to just about use pure lead, so it goes into the rifling easier. A problem you may see is that once it engraves on the way in, it may raise up off the powder charge with any rough gun handling. I just shot the 250 Grain Lee REAL bullet out of a 50 Cal. T/C Hawken 1:48 twist and they are great, also the 380 grain. out of a 54 Cal. T/C Hawken1:48 twist . I really like these bullets both rifles shot great and at 50 yards they were less than a 1.5 inch group. I did not swab the barrels at all between shots. Shot 10 shots through both rifles.
